The team did less of one-on-one drills today and gave the extra time to their team-on drills. The main objective today was installing the offense and defense in 2nd and long and 3rd and lond packages. Today's practice was the first practice in pads and it was a good one for big plays.

Drew oredered a catering service from plum street to serve free sno balls to all the fans and players during yesterdays practice and I believe they will be there for the week.

Garret Hartley and John Kasay had a drug out battle today during practice for about 30 mins off to the side where a lot of fans couldnt really see. They each kicked around 20-25 balls with Kasay only missing 2 and Hartley missing 4.

Jabari Greer had a great day at practice with one int and almost another that was dropped. He looks really fast and was shutting down anyone that lined up across from him. He was at his old habits of stuffing the run all practice as well.

Chris Givens seems to be winning the battle with Josh Morgan early in camp. He made two really tough catches today even laying out on a ball that Chase Daniel lead him to far on over the middle.

The one person who I can see is struggling so far in camp is Devery Henderson. He has 3 drops so far and seems to maybe have lost a step which isnt good due to the depth at WR this year.

Jabari Greer had the play of the day when he picked off Drew Brees and stopped running on what would have been a 55yd TD. He laughed it off after practice and said he wouldnt reveal his secrets on how to figure out Drew Brees.

Injuries
DE Donovan Robinson Leg Left Practice
TE David Thomas Out
DT Akiem Hicks Out

Sunday's practice is from 4-645 with a 30% chance of rain.

Thanks again for your insights, Bduhon. Good shite right there. Any word on Toon and if he's making any progress? If he demonstrates a clear Colston-like ability and Devery doesn't get his shite together, DH and his rather large salary could get released.

The Patrick pick 6 was more impressive, IMO, than Greer's. On Greer's play Brees stared down the right side for quite some time, pump faked twice during the play but Greer was always right against his man and eventually made the catch when Brees threw his way.

As you can see from the picture Patrick's was a bang bang play, it happened so quickly. He's running up field one second the next he's flying through the air and catching a fastball thrown behind him and then scampering the other way for a TD.

There were some really amazing diving catches throughout the day from some second and third string players, I mean they were fantastic catches. Really impressive.

Hawthorne is incredibly impressive as well, he was athletic enough to stay step for step with Sproles out the backfield whenever Sproles was going out for pass routes. Hawthorne is also much thicker than I would have though he was, looks very solid.

Brees has some great passes over the middle of the field to Graham and Colston that were right over the defender's helmets that were virtually indefensible. His touch on those passes is amazing. The Brees hookup to Graham was in full effect, those two connected on a ton of passes with defenders nearby that they just couldn't do anything about. High traffic but Graham always came down with the ball.

Anyone think Kasey wins the Kicking job? Personally, I think he should. He still has a solid leg and is very accurate.

Am I the only one who gets nervous when Hartley lines up for a field goal?

No, you're not.

I'd like to have just Kasay, but Hartley is our distance kicker.
I'd prefer to have both, honestly.
