Anyone notice the similarities between TDKR and 007's The World Is Not Enough? (

*SPOILERS BELOW*
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but did anyone who has seen both films notice the many similarities that these two films share with one another?
In both films, the innocent woman is ultimately revealed to be the true mastermind/villain and the "monstrous villain" works for her out of devotion. Both are also willing to sacrifice themselves for love.
Not to mention Bane was very much like Renard (villain from TWINE): a single named, intelligent anarchist terrorist with super strength due to a disorder, and we are led to believe throughout the bulk of both films that Bane and Renard are the masterminds behind the plot.
Then there's Miranda Tate and Elektra King; beautiful, foreign businesswomen who deal in global energy. Both earn the trust of the hero (Bond/Wayne) while becoming romantically involved with them, though it's all a part of their plan to use the hero's company (MI6 and Wayne Enterprises) to her own ends.
The plans are basically the same as well: steal nuclear material with the goal of nuking an entire city (Gotham and Istanbul).
Considering Chris Nolan is a Bond fan, I can't help but wonder if TWINE served as an inspiration for TDKR.

It would've been cool if we had a similar ending where Talia, like Elektra, gets killed first and then in their final showdown, Batman tells Bane that Talia is dead....which enrages him.
But yeah, good call on the similarities. Elektra and Talia were both motivated by revenge and both got to know their partners while in captivity.

really, anyone who has yet to see the Dark Knight Rises should stay out of any discussion thread not about the shooting.

Is this the one where we are led to believe that Denise Richards is a scientist?

This is the one Bond (and frankly few movies) I walked out on...I was so pissed at the direction of this beloved franchise had gone.
And she was ridiculous as a nuclear physicist.
I haven't seen TDKR - the title of this thread scared me to click on it.

James Bond uncovers a nuclear plot when he protects an oil heiress from her former kidnapper, an international terrorist who can't feel pain.
Ratings: 6.3/10
right where TDKR should be

Sorry, peeps. I did include it in parenthesis (hence the lone parenthesis at the end of the title), but I didn't notice that the word limit had been exceeded after posting.
