Khakis are certainly cooler in the summer and you'll be more appropriately dressed IMO, but if you are the type that has a burning love for jeans, knock yourself out.

Wear one of those cool, fashionable fishing shirts. I think teal, white, or orange would look great with some jeans. Tucked in of course.
