Absolutely. The damage is that Joe Pa will never be recognized as the all-time winningest coach. His statue is gone and the squeaky clean rep of the school is dead. And they'll suck at football for a long time!

I'm not saying they can't pay it, but I think you're underestimating what a huge amount of money that is. It's not always easy for schools to pull together even 6-8 million for a coach's buyout. I seriously doubt Penn State can find 6 people willing to just write a check for ten million dollars to pay a fine.
