Good thing no one was hurt. That could've been a terrible tragedy

quote:Well if you read what the guy said in the comments, he said no one was ejected.
How did no one fly out if literally 2 seconds after the crash there were people in the median?

was it an old person?
The story doesn't specify an age.
It only says:
quote:
[The driver] told police he doesn't remember anything. [He] was charged with reckless driving and no proof of insurance. Additional charges are pending toxicology results from the hospital.

Thoroughly explained, thank you.

Reason enough to make sure he never drives again.

This must happen frequently in MS. I have seen two people on the wrong side of the freeway just like this.

I've lived in Mississippi two years (and 24 years in Louisiana), and the only place I've seen someone going the wrong way on a 4-lane highway is in Mississippi. I was a backseat passenger, and the car came whizzing by us in the left lane going the wrong way. Scary.
Strangely enough, it was only about 8 miles from where that video in the OP was.

Saw someone on 61 in Mississippi doing that on the way to Omaha in 2009.

I only post this because everyone is ok, thank God. But it reminds me of a joke my dad told me.
A guy is driving down the interstate when his wife calls him, she tells him.."Honey, please be careful, they have a news helicopter following this one car that's going the wrong way on the interstate!" and he says "One?! There's a bunch of idiots going the wrong way!!!"

I chuckled when the girl said "We might be on tv" but seriously it's a miracle everyone survived that collision.

I've been traveling that strip of 49 a lot lately (from Jackson to to collins...my grandfather is in the VA nursing home in Collins. That's a bad section of Hwy thru there, because you really can't see what's coming over the hill in front of you. I can for sure see where the driver of the SUV had no time to react. Very scary.......
