Going in 3-weeks. Staying in Gaslamp Dist, but don't necessarily need to limit it to that area.
Looking for some restaurant suggestions and best places for beer.

I've ate at Acqua Al 2 in downtown SD.
hands down, the best Italian food i have ever eaten, and its not even close.

The marine room in la jolla or one of the old town restaurants. The bitter end was always one of my favorite bars.

Good BBQ in SD... Phil's BBQ
Also, if you're an old school music guy like myself, you can try Croce's in the Gaslamp. It's owned by singer Jim Croce's widow and also has live music on the weekends.

Mexican restaurants in Old Town are very good
