I started DVRing it last month, because it is hard to find these days and I had forgotten how great a series it was. Love it even more at 40 than I did as a teenager and Norm was "hero" to me back in the day.

The whole series is streaming on Netflix if you have that and want to go on a binge.

I went to Boston recently and went to the Cheers bar. I still at the line in the opening credits about your husband wanting to be a girl or something like that.

What a complete letdown. I was expecting the actual bar and it was just the front facade

Friend of mine works with a guy who played one of the bar regulars, "Pete," real name Peter Schreiner. Once in a while he had a line, usually he was just in the background. He's a psychiatric social worker at a juvenile facility in CA now.

Did you go to the upper level? The bottom level where you enter is the old bar that the series was based off of, but then the top level is the new bar that was replicated after the one in the TV show.
