I suspected that this was your point, but I don't read the manga. The story, as I know it, has been really good.

There have been some moments where I can tell that it was probably toned down, but I just can't imagine reading weeks worth of subtitles just to appreciate the truer story.

However, I think remember reading that they have actually altered some of the story lines in the dubs. Although I don't remember to what extent it really effects the storyline.

I like the Funi dub. It's what I started on as a kid. It's what I knew first.
