So I have been watching Dragonball for the first time and it feels strangely nostalgic. I used to watch random episodes of DBZ on toonami when I was growing up, and a few years ago I finally watched the entire DBZ series and several movies. However, I had never watched more than the first few episodes of the original series.
I watched the first two season over the past few weeks, and it has been very enjoyable. Surely some of the nostalgia feeling I get is from each series mostly having the same voice actors.
The tone of the show has been much more lighthearted, but it has been no less intriguing. Has anyone else gone back and watched the original series after previously only watching DBZ? Are there any downfalls of the original series that come in later seasons?

I did that a couple years ago

Nope. DB is really good, not as great as DBZ imo, but still really good just with a different tone. Not as much emphasis on the fights. It was also really cool to go back and see some of the storylines that were alluded to in DBZ.
