Naaaa. He'll be fine. Everyone wants to do a superhero/action movie.

I could see it being good, but it depends on the rest of pieces in place.

The game has one of the best stories I have ever seen. If they do this right, it could be really good.

he's german with a british accent...

Portraying the voice of Ezio (assuming that is who he will play) will be a mistake.

It's needs to be dark though. R rating with blood and heads rolling stuff. If there aren't at least 50 people killed on screen, I will call it a failure.

Track-record for video game movies and actors in them isn't that great. That's all I'm saying. He's still got a chance as long as Uwe Boll isn't attached.

If he is going in with the attitude of "cashing in on a blockbuster popcorn flick", like Cusack in Con Air, more than likely, it won't be great. Hopefully he signed on because the story was good, but what are the odds?

I was looking at fassbender's imdb profile and he has an interesting movie coming out next year called The Counselor with brad Pitt, Javier bardem, Penelope Cruz, and Cameron Diaz directed by Ridley Scott

Looks like it could be really good

Sorry for the mini-hijack

Well, he's also co-producing it, so there's a chance that he will try to make as good as it can be.

As for his British accent, he was raised in Ireland... so... it should be an Irish accent.

I didn't click on OP's link, but the article I read on huffingtonpost said he will play Desmond. So maybe they will be showing what happens with Desmond after the 3rd game. They've already told the stories of the three whose lives he's remembered and that would be too much seeing Fassbender do a Muslim, an Italian, and a Native American in one movie.

depends on which story line they start with.

If they are going to do a series of movies then go from the 1st game/book and so forth. there is 4 books out and a 5th currently being written.

These guys can do any accent. Enough hair dye, and I have no worries Fassbender can pull it off.

I'm confused.

Con Air is pretty great for what it is.

Which is a mindless popcorn flick. And Cusack even came out and said that the only reason he did that movie was for the paycheck.

It's a really good story and if done right can be a damn good film. I'm also curious as to what part of the storyline they'll include given the range of it. And if he's playing Desmond who will play Ezio (or potentially another ancestor)?

I'm excited.
