Where is a good place in BR to pick them up. I swung by Pocorello's on Coursey tonight but they were closed, so I settled for some "from Italy" tomatoes from Ralph's.
What are your go-to tomatoes for spaghetti sauce?

DAngelos used to sell them. I bought a huge can here in Lake Chuck before at their restaurant for $10

This time of the year I use fresh.

Where do you get the fresh one's. Your backyard or the produce stand?

For making a spaghetti sauce, I tend to use the Muir Glen crushed with basil. If I'm making pizza with a simple San Marzano tomato sauce I use these
I saw Calandro's has the non DOP certified variety of La Valle in stock now. I buy the green label La Valle(DOP) by the case from Jimmy's Food Store every trip I make to Dallas.

My dad until he pulled his up. Kroger's in Sulphur does sell the San Marzanos, I used them a few weeks ago b/c I wanted to try them and they were very good.

Calandros has them and they are good but Heinz makes the same plum tomatos at half the cost and they are just as good.

Screw all brands but Cento.
Cento is doing some shady shite with their product.
Shady shite found here
They're changed from DOP Certified to just saying "Certified" which means nothing. There are lots of shenanigans going on with San Marzano tomatoes. They will grow San Marzano style tomatoes in California. The true magic of the SM tomatoes is the right plant grown in the volcanic ash in Italy. DOP certification is the only way to know what you are getting, but you pay for it. Otherwise you're buying a tomato that may or may not be San Marzano which may or may not be grown in the proper region.
