I've gotten arrested for resisting arrest before. True story an officer tried to arrest me for looking over to a friend and telling a friend that he couldn't do something, the officer then stepped up with handcuffs. I backed up resisted arrest then was taken to jail. While in jail it took about 5 hours to write up a false charge. I was then charged with Obstruction and ended up paying over $2000 in fines and was on probation for a year. Cops will try to do anything they want these days.

Wonder if any Packers will put a bounty on him while in the Houston jail?

Well I know Johnny Jolly is out so he doesn't need to worry about him

Roger Goodell had a hunch that the Saints defense was involved in the hoopla. Adds another games suspension to everyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time AP has been involved with the law. By all accounts he's a class act, so I don't think it's fair to judge him based on his father or other family member's actions.

Guarantee you this is what happened. Remember the Ryan Moats incident in Texas a couple of years ago?

Lots of cops are like that nowadays - especially the younger guys who are militarized from tours overseas and so are completely out of control/aggressive/over the top.

Bunch of GED-toting Nazis who are helly jelly of anybody with money.

+1

From what I know of AP I'd take his word over Texas cops 100 times out of 100.

I am usually the first person to want to hear both sides, and I am not a cop hater by any means, but I am pretty sure AP did nothing to provoke the officer.

Supposedly shoved an off duty cop

The manager of the bar told TMZ that Peterson was very drunk and a difficult customer all night.

Adrian Peterson was heavily intoxicated at the time of his arrest, which was very out of character for the NFL star ... this according to the club where he was busted early this morning.Daniel Maher, general manager of Live at Bayou Place, tells TMZ that Peterson has been to the club before, but he has never known him to drink much. Last night, however, Maher said Peterson was ver drunk and was a difficult customer all night. Maher says Peterson was throwing his ego around and making people mad, so they put him in the VIP area. Maher says when the club was closing, he rushed over to the bar to try and order one last drink and when he wouldn't Maher says Peterson "tried to intimidate the bartender" into selling it to him. According to Maher, that's when he intervened, but Peterson continued to be "unreasonable." That's when Maher says the off-duty cop intervened, and, as TMZ first reported, Peterson proceeded to shove him.Maher says during his confrontation with the officer, Peterson assumed a fight stance and looked "like he meant business." Maher says, "He looked really scary and I thought he was gonna attack the cops." Maher says that once the officers subdued Peterson, the NFL star apologized for his behavior and told cops he doesn't usually drink. Peterson was eventually booked into jail and charged with resisting arrest. Calls to Peterson's rep were not returned.

it’s believed that one of the officers then jumped on Peterson’s back from behind and tried to take him down. (Key word: “tried.”) Other officers then joined the fray and completed the arrest.

Look at that police defense swarm to the football!!

Wow. Funny how hearing both sides of a story changes things.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle. Yes, there are overly aggressive cops, but I'll bet 99% of the bullshite between civilians (particularly famous black ones) and cops is because of mouthiness. The cops don't want to hear it, and many of the arrestees simply pulled the smartass routine. The cops ALWAYS win in these situations. I'm so tired of the 'you gonna respek me' attitude. Do what the frick they tell you, and move on with your life. I seriously doubt that any cop would go out of their way to frick with a star NFL player. They've got other shite to do.

Probably this. Some cops have power complexes, I couldn't imagine someone's ego after pulling over a top 10 NFL player.

I'll give AP the benefit of the doubt on this one. He recently gave back $1 Million to OU and just seems to be an all around good guy.

From everything I've heard AP is an awesome guy. Even if he is guilty of something (which I doubt right now) I don't think it's a true representation of him. He's been in Houston working out with Christine Michael at Rice this offseason I believe.
