It was a bad challenge in the box. Period.
Shelvey's challenge was a red solely because of how stupid it was. Dumb to even try that.

When you do a two footed lunge chances are you will get a red. When you challenge from behind and you don't get the ball chances are that the ref will deem that to be foul.

I'm not arguing about Shelvey, but if his is a red then Halsey has to send off Evans as well.
I guess we can debate the penalty but I think you will find very few people who aren't Man U fans who'd agree with that call.

I read a good bit of neutral soccer journalists/analysts on Twitter that agreed with the call. Valencia dramatized it, no doubt, but that's a foul.

Just re-watched the pk in slow motion. Valencia should have been booked. He was going down before the challenge was made, it was a dive.
