'd also be interested in Kjaer, I know he's had some struggles, but he and Agger work so well together for Denmark..

Kjaer really has all the skills to be a very good CB. I wanted it to work out for him in Roma; he's such a likeable guy and shows a lot of passion.

The drawback is that his problem seems psychological. Roma is unfortunately one of the worst places in the world to play/manage as far as non-stop pressure and negativity from the fans/media but I've never it get to a player as badly as it did to Kjaer. (Well, maybe Osvaldo in a different way.)

After one huge error in a derby, Kjaer just kind of wilted and played so afraid of making errors the rest of the season. He'd always send out long apologetic "tweets" to the fans after every mistake that were quite "heartfelt" but more uncomfortable than anything else. . . .

I would love to see him go to Liverpool and succeed but he may be the type player who's better off on an "underdog" with less pressure.

To your point, maybe playing alongside his captain would give him that confidence... I recently read this quote after the past international break...

quote:

"Agger and I played a good game", he told bold.dk.

"He was there when I needed him to be and I was there when he needed me to be. It is a great feeling when this happens.

"It has been a good relationship between Agger and myself for some time. It was like that at the European Championship and I must say I am not surprised. When it works, it’s good."
