Mata had a dive as well, which is extremely out of character

His was bad as well. In fact, I was actually curious as to where the dives were coming from, because it seemed more than normal. I wonder if it had anything to due with Torres staying up and not getting the PK against City? Like they all decided they'd dive to make sure they got the calls.

ESPN is full retard on this one. I've seen it reported left and right that the apology was accepted. Regardless, who gives a frick. The acceptance of an apology means nothing as far as I'm concerned in the grand scheme of this.

I agree. All that he can do is apologize.

and a muzzle. Although, I think it was one of the guys from Men In Blazers that suggested that he must have his teeth removed so if he does bite again, it will just gum someone.

I think since he wants to act like a poorly domesticated animal, someone should just follow him around on the pitch and when he does something wrong they can spray him with a spray bottle of water in the face. Works for my Catahoula.

Again bleed, this guy reiterates what I've been sayin...

LINK

And the more I think about, for us LFC supporters, I think our over reaction was based more on.. Dammit, you've just gave all the other supporting fans more ammo and now we got to hear this shite all over again when we just want to enjoy watching you play...

Well that's exactly it. But I still wouldn't call it an overreaction. The problem is that he can't act like an adult, not that he caused actual harm. Like I told Bho via text, i get the argument that reckless challenges are worse. But that has nothing to do with it. Spitting on a referee, throwing a quarter at a player, blatantly diving in the penalty area, etc....all of these cause less harm in the long run than a season/career ending challenge. Nonetheless, a player wearing the Liver Bird shouldn't act that way. It embarrassing, and has tarnished the reputation of a club that was previously seen as always playing the game the "right" way (at least when it comes to on the pitch). We were never hated like United is now in the 70's or 80's, because we played attractive football and were professionals about it. Luis is not a professional, he's a child. That's the issue I have with it. Its not that he's trying to take a chunk out of Ivan's arm, its that he's defacing a once proud reputation every single time he does something like this.

By the way, I completely agree with the article. We, as Liverpool fans, should be outraged. Chelsea fans should be outraged by the fact that they were robbed of 2 points by a player who should have been sent off.

The rest of the country, world, this board....every other fan of every other team needs to shut the frick up. They have no reason to be outraged, only reason to laugh. It isn't a great injustice to anyone other than the team who got cheated out of a win and the team who has to deal with the fact that one of their players is a god damned toddler who got his blocks taken away and threw a temper tantrum. That's my two cents on it, though. Queue up the line of posters who disagree and are "personally outraged" at what happened to another team and has no impact whatsoever on themselves other than a new platform for some pretty hilarious memes.

The funny thing about this is every time I start to get mad about the result, I go back into shock. I still can't grasp that this grown adult bit another grown adult. I mean all jokes aside, when I mentioned it to my wife, my 3 year old says "no biting, biting bad". Then I burst into laughter thinking that a 3 year old knows better than this grown man.

At least we know when he gets his first national call up we don't have to worry about him chomping down on a Mexican's arm in hex play.

re: Liverpool FC 2012/13 Season Long Thread

Another story I heard on the Football show today was talking about an unnamed Chelsea youth that spat at another player after a very physical game. His coach pulled him aside and said "look son, you can't spit at someone because you are mad. This is England and that's not ok. Next time just punch him in the face." Sadly, I think the outrage would be much less if he would have punched the Serb.

Which is what I was talking about above. National outrage over this? Are you fricking kidding me? The only people who should be outraged are Liverpool and Chelsea. No permanent and lasting harm came out of this. Quite the opposite. Only a vast new opportunity at jokes. Punching someone and injuring them are the types of things that should outrage the country because it endangers the safety of players of every team.

This situation pertains only to Chelsea and Liverpool and should be kept that way.
