I'd never buy a personalized one this early... Studge may be given the #9, who knows... Stevie is probably your only safe bet...

I'm 40 and have jerseys more as keep sakes, only wear them really on a match day... Sometimes... On occasion I've ventured out in one for a brief period, but never really wear them just to wear them...

That said, I'm a firm believer in do what you wanna..

I have a few and wear them quite often. I just wear what's comfortable, and I find soccer and hockey jerseys hard to beat.

Okay First let me state this ... WHAT SUAREZ DID WAS frickING WRONG AND HE DESERVES TO BE PUNISHED!

Now that we got that out of the way ... REALLY what the frick is up with all this moral high ground bullshite I have read. Okay he bit someone, that fricking sucks, but is that any worse than when Gerrard purposefully elbowed someone in the back of the head? (this was not during a play or anything, he literally ran down the field and elbowed the frick out of some dude's head, pure malice) Where were y'all then claiming we shouldn't keep Gerrard?? And honestly where as biting is bad and disgusting, is it actually worse than challenges or acts that their intent is to do serious physical harm as to where the player might be able to play again? IMO ... HELL NO!!! One is equivalent to fighting the other is trying to mame another player.

I understand why one should be upset but seriously with all the shite that I have seen if other matches with others players I really don't feel this is that much worse. The only problem is it involves Satan(Suarez) and the act of biting which already has a very negative connotation. Yet, in reality it is equal to throwing a punch or starting a fight and deserves the same repercussions and he should also be required to see help for his anger issues. But to say is his time is done and we can't put up with this anymore is just stupid!

You might call me an apologist, blind supporter, dumb, whatever & etc. but IMHO I don't think this is really any worse than many of the other examples y'all have listed and definitely far less worse than any of those or others that would/did cause physical harm to which the player might not had been able to play again ...

ENDING ANOTHER'S CAREER >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BITING

... so let's move on and try to support and help Luis in this situation and hope during the off-season we can help him reform so that next season when we might have a supporting cast for him we won't have to worry about him falling of the rocker again and getting suspended or banned.

I'm on my phone so I can't underline to emphasize things, but I do agree with you that ending a career is way worse than biting as far as the victim. However unlike a bite, you may not be able to tell the intent. You can't accidentally bite someone. With that said I would still like to see wreckless challenges be punished more harshly. While we are on stupid tackles, didn't Suarez do that to someone this season?

ETA: Listening to the replay of the football show on Sirius and just heard Shreeves say its part of his culture. That he imagined pickup games in South America to involve biting on the regular. I peed a little bit.

We'll have to agree to disagree. This hasn't happened in a vacuum. The idiot (and I love that idiot, but he is one) cannot control himself. Time and again, he's proven that. And yes biting is worse than you're making it out to be. True, it doesn't end a career, but being embroiled in the game and going in over-zealous on a challenge is quite different than walking up to someone and zombie biting them. What is he, a 6 year old? You have to actually plan on that shite. You don't get "carried away" and bite someone out of emotion. You do it because you're either:

a) A domesticated house pet
b) A toddler who just got his toy blocks taken from him
c) A fricking psychopath

There's no excuse for it. Its happened now more than once, in addition to the rest of his antics. Is he vilified? Of course, and its ridiculous. But I'm sick of having to deal with the nightmare that is Suarez PR. Do I want him sold? Of course not. But I'm just getting sick of his shite. The shirt is whats most important, not your fricking anger. Suarez needs to be taught how to play nicely, like a fricking child. That's embarrassing.

We talk shite about Terry, Keane, Evra, Rooney, Shawcross, Aguero (just recently), Ibra, Pepe, etc. Yes they've all done dumb stuff and all have taken a verbal lashing from us as Liverpool fans for it. They're all embarrassments, and unfortunately Suarez moved into that group yesterday. I suggest to those who think this is being blown out of proportion to check themselves next time they want to rant about how terrible Terry is for sleeping with random women.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you talk shite about all of them, you have to be prepared to take shite for what Suarez did.

Well this is kinda the point ... a bite you know what is meant behind it, crazy challenges are hard to tell sometimes, but honestly Kun's two footed plunge into David Luis back is completely the same to me as the Suarez biting if not slightly worse.

I wouldn't put it past him, look at the fire he plays with, but I can say I have seen quite a few of these type of tackles throughout the year and from players that aren't in the same category as Satan(read Suarez). I hate to admit and wish they wouldn't exist but these type of challenges just exist and will continue to always exist. All we can hope is that we can remove the majority of them from the game.

Wear it all you want, when you want. Trust me, it's a Liverpool shirt it looks good on all Redmen, in all circumstances.

I wear my Liverpool shirts all the time. Sometimes I turn up at work on Fridays in my Liverpool Shirt.

It appeared to me that Suarez was appealing for a foul on Ivanovic as he was getting back to his feet. The only explanation I have for his action is that he was trying to provoke Ivanovic to earn a penalty. I can understand him thinking that the Center Ref and the linesman may miss his part in the incident, but how did he think the cameras were going to miss his bite?

Solid post except...

Suarez had not only moved into "that group" but far surpassed anyone listed in a loooong time ago.

Sure, it was dumb and he should serve a suspension, but it was nowhere near as serious as some reckless tackles that I have seen.

Charged with violent conduct by the FA. LINK

quote:

It is alleged that the conduct of Suarez constitutes violent conduct and it is The FA’s contention that the standard punishment of three matches that would otherwise apply is clearly insufficient in these circumstances.

Accept the punishment and move on.

I'm guessing there's not a single person on this board who has ever watched a rugby match before.

Agreed. I just wonder how severe it will be. It's the FA, so nothing would surprise me.

10 matches would be fair, IMO. 20 matches would be extreme. A lifetime banning from the country is apparently what the masses want.

What the hell was Ivanovic thinking putting his arm near Suarez's mouth? What a dumb arse.

10 matches would be overkill to me. Let's not forget Aguero intentionally stamped Luiz with two feet last weekend and he didn't get a punishment of any kind.

5-7 is fair IMO.

I'd say 3-5 games is pretty fair.

I watch rugby every now and then usually on an online stream. St Helens RLFC!!

Also, I never thought I'd say this but Gary Neville is my favorite Pundit after Alan Hansen and by far. He's exceptionally unbiased for being a sworn manc. Here's Gary talking about Suarez's latest misdemeanor.

A 4-5 game ban would be more than fair by me.

Dutch league suspended him 7. I'd be kinda surprised if the FA was more lax.
