from that picture, looks like Coutinho will be wearing the #20 (something) shirt... I kinda like how the #9 and #10 werent handed out to DS and PC from the start... make them earn it...
Or maybe it indicative our intentions in the summer... Anyway, just some mid morning speculation...

yeah, I'd really like to see us go after CE and I feel Sanchez will be let go from Barca this summer... I know he may be not popular with many, but he's still young and add's width and speed to front line...
I think he would have more freedom here than Barca, so he can get back to his Udinese form...
CB.. I'd like us to go after Dede (Vasco tie with Coutinho)... Or Micah Richards from Man City... He also has the versatility to play RB, but he's young, strong and has pace
LB is the hard one, but I really like Luke Shaw.
Anyway, WAYYYY ahead of myself and just talking off the top of my head...

i wanna say i read somewhere that he couldn't get the #10 shirt anyway b/c cole wore it this year. but that probably isn't true. not sure how it works

Nah, Carroll took Torres' #9 two years ago... Now he wouldnt be able to wear it in Europa League (I believe Carroll wore #29 in those games).
Now, I dont think Suarez could take the #9 or #10 in mid season for example...

The bookies have Downing to Sunderland at 3:1 all of a sudden. Fine by me if we can get £8-12m.

Works for me. If BR is planning on playing Coutinho out wide then his playing time is going to drop pretty soon, anyways. I'm curious to see how the team gets set up going forward and how we line up for the gooners today

This ... it doesn't hurt to have depth at the position but if we could sell him and bring in Ince quickly, I'm all for it.

The way I look at it... we had a thin squad to begin with and when we bring in Coutinho, that will mean 2 in and 2 out... so a zero net gain.
That said, I believe we replaced dead wood (kinda) with quality and we have been bounced from 2 competitions...
But, you never know with injuries...

I think this hurts a lot in development of our youth, but does allow us to focus on the 4th spot
