I got it on Amazon at 20% off so about $48 but that deal isn't going on anymore.

See above. If you don't care about early access and all of those benefits some place like Amazon or Newegg will have a sale in the next few weeks.

Not really very far as some of us are still trying to figure things out and you will have the benefit of the knowledge people gain. Also the game scales you back if you are too high for a zone so people could still play with you and not be over powering everthing.

cool I may just go ahead and get it now. Darksiders II is coming out tomorrow and I wanted to finish that before I got GW2 and had that take up my time.

I never get tired of Queensdale for some reason. Just the fond familiarity, I guess.
I'd be happy to go back and help other people level, and I'm sure some others wouldn't mind either.

3 Days? Eh, not far at all. Unless you are playing 24-7 you can't really get THAT far ahead. It's more of just giving people a boost, name reservations, and spreading out the population.
2 things keep you on par with everyone:
1) All PvP is Auto-Leveled - So for sPvP (Standard Player vs Player) you are leveled to 80 and have access to all top level equipment for PvP only.
For WvWvW you are leveled to 80 and your PvE gear is boosted to match the level. Granted, I wouldn't recommend running into WvWvW below 10, but once you do get 2+ utility skills you should be fine.
2) All content scales DOWN to level. Big change for PvE MMOs, but it works. It makes all content relevant and fun. So no matter how far ahead you get, when you go back to a Level1-15 zone you are leveled down appropriately.

Not sure when the early access offer expires for pre-orders, but if you can find out I would wait to see if it goes on sale before then, if it doesn't you can pick it up at the deadline nothing lost.

I think you can still get it straight from ArenaNet for the preorder bonuses. But not for much longer.
