Is the first place you bought it at still in business?
Mine was May of 1988. Sound Shop in Monroe on our way through vacation to Dallas. My mom bought me the tape of Def Lepard "Hysteria", but I also got the cassette single of "Fallen Angel" by Poison. Remember those?
For 3 bucks and change, you could buy a single and it had, on the B side, the song -- usually was the case -- that was likely the worst one on the entire album.
Needless to say, at that age, "Hysteria" was one of those that you could play from "Women" all the way through and it was all good. MTV must have made 7 videos from that album (Women, Rocket, Animal, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Hysteria, Armegeddon it). Of course, listening to it in 2012, I think the greatest and most prolific song on that album was "Gods of War". Def was one of those bands that had some good stuff going on, whether they were cheesy or not. Steve and Phil had some awesome separate guitars going at once stuff, where one was playing something and the other was playing something that sounded nothing like it...but they just meshed very well. D.L. is a band that I still say has much listening power.

Camelot records. Still have it and all the Police on vinyl but my turntable is kaput.
And this cover has indentions on it from using it as a surface for middle school homework. Held to the light you can see old math problems.

Better than Ezra - Deluxe. I don't like them much anymore but very rarely listen to them. Haven't listened to this whole album in probably over 10 years.
Live - Throwing Copper. I am not a huge fan of their other albums, but this one still holds a special place in my heart. I still think this is a solid album that holds up well today and still listen to it on occasion.

I have no idea
ALthough it was good stuff, "I have a small Recollection" was better, IMO.

Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Bought at Sound Warehouse(?) @ the old Airline and Florida location (next door to Fun Fair Park) during the summer of 1987. I was going into first grade, and spent all the change I had saved up for a while to buy it. It was on cassette, and I still have it, but it doesn't work anymore. I still listen to my digital copy on occasion.

Fun thread!
That was my first CD, bought that bad boy at K-Mart
My first cassette tape, though, that was this
Judge away, I judge myself
ETA: Neither one of those make it into the rotation nowadays.

KISS Destroyer was the first one I purchased. I had swiped a few albums from my bros before that.

Bad Company, Bad Company. I don't recall where I bought the album, but I bought it in 1974. I think I got it from Bert's downtown, but I'm not sure. It was ruined when my plumbing backed-up in my house.

Bought this brand new on cassette after my grandma gave me some money. One of those awesome grandma moments where she hands me a 5 dollar bill and I didn't have to do any chores for it.
Anyway, I wore that cassette out. NO, I don't still listen to in anymore
ETA: pretty sure I bought it at the old Wal-Marks that was on the corner of Acadian and Perkins (RIP).
