Best place to eat in the Mandeville area?

Price isn't much of a concern as long as I can get by with jeans. Casual dining is cool, just looking for a good meal.
Bonus points for a decent beer selection.

Gallagher's is my top choice.
Sal and Judy's would be next.
Keith Young's in Madisonville
Mrs4lsu2 loves Nuvolari's in Old Mandeville, but I wasn't too impressed.
Wait til August 1st and you will have Johnny's Pizza

Tap Room in Covigton has excellent bar food and a great beer selection.
Of course the Chimes as well.

It is more of an upscale joint, but it is supposed to be the best Italian restaurant on either North or South shores.

Sal and Judys is fantastic but def. nicer on the weekend.
I like Rips on the Lake as well.

Sal & Judys if you want a wonderful Italian meal
Keith Youngs if you want a great steak
Chimes if you want an amazing beer selection (average louisiana food)
I have lived here all my life but haven't been to Gallagher's; heard great things though

Megumi for the best sushi in LA. Everything is incredible

Busters Place Oyster Bar if you want something really good.
If you want something cheaper and a lot more casual, Babaganoush is pretty awesome for the money.

greek and lebanese. The owner would sometimes come out to The Green Room after midnight and sell the best $5 gyros you ever had in your life to all the drunks at the bar. So deliciously worth it and so much meat.

Used to be alot better than they are now and if your going in the Lacombe direction, open up the pocket book for La Provence....

I share this sentiment, pre-katrina it was rollin though.
Ntinis is very good and haven't seen that mentioned here yet. If your including Covington then you could try Del Porto, Annadelle's Plantation, and Lola....

quote:I drift in and out of the Northshore and went to Gallagher's about 2 years ago. This is the place on 21 in Covington, right? Food is good although the main dining room can be a bit loud. We got a table off to the side next to the bar and that helped. That side room is carpeted a little out of the main traffic.
Gallagher's is my top choice

Del Porto, Annadelles Plantsation
Del Porto is horrendously overpriced for average food IMO. I'll never go there again. It's like they try to lure you into a false sense of class and quality with their tiny drink glasses and linen table cloths. Then they bring the food out and it's overlooked, dry and bland.
Annadelles is excellent though. Fried green tomatoes with lump crabmeat sauce on top is the best.

Bosco's
Going to dinner there this weekend for the first time in too long. Haven't been since they changed locations on 59.
Has anyone been to the Bosco's that opened in Covington? I didn't even know it existed until a couple of days ago.

Ate Morton's in Madisonville this past weekend and thought it was very good. Maybe a little pricey but it is on the water.

The one in Terra Bella?
It is very good as well and has a better atmosphere than the 59 location, IMO.
