He bought it because a friend was selling it cheap and he just wanted another boat I guess. Now he wants to go fishing in it and we are kinda limited to where we can go bc there isnt really a place to put a trolling motor in the front.
If I were him I would sell it at a profit and buy a boat more appropriate for what he wants.

quick question.... Why did he buy that boat if y'all plan on doing mostly inshore fishing?

Looking at the boat in the above picture I think it looks decent for just about everything.. I.e. you can fish inshore, you can tow with it, go offshore some.. etc.

I was picturing a much deeper hull but that one looks fine.

Well then they're dumb for buying that for inshore fishing. Not practical at all.

Having a trolling motor or not having one has NOTHING to do with having a power pole. Nothing at all.

I'd sell it and buy an inshore fishing boat if I wanted a boat to fish inshore. If you want one to do both with, get a 24' bayboat.

What size is that Yammie? Looks underpowered. Surprised there aren't two 250s hanging off the back.

I figured without a trolling motor, hopefully the wind drifts you or drive it to a spot and put the pole down instead of putting out the anchor everytime... Craps annoying

Me personally wouldnt have bought it but its a start for him since he wants to get into fishing somewhere other than the Diversion and Amite, because he hates pulling the boat places to go fishing. Still working on that too lol

Yea it is def. under powered. Its a 225. Been looking at a 300 or twin 150s, but I doubt we get either

That boat looks like floating AIDS. You don't race in minivans and you don't take pleasure boats fishing. A powerpole on that boat will make it look so dumb that you should have to have an extra insuracce poilcy for people that fall in the water laughing.

That being said, I'm pretty jealous cause I don't have any boat. You can make it work but it would be tough. 78" shaft trolling motor should cover it, but it will not be fun at all to control that big bitch from the bow.

Not all scarab's are pleasure boats.

That being said you could probably get a trolling motor on the bow, or put trolling motors on trim tabs.
