Fwiw, I heard back from this same guy. Said it's Petersen and the uncertainty of conferences and the looming playoff and the Children's Hospital was a HUGE selling point.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit. Boise St. is a have not, and everything they're trying to do to change that is backfiring on them.
The unknown variable is if Petersen wants to cross the Rockies. Like I've stated, we're looking for a guy with something to prove, someone with a little chip on the shoulder that has an ego to convince himself that he can take on the world at Arkansas and come out looking like roses.
I think Petersen may fit that mold.

Arkansas childrens hospital is the best in the Mid South and one of the best in the nation. period
and what if you had your choice between Patterson and Petersen? who would you take

Really don't think there's anything to these rumors about Petersen (I'd love him), but Fayetteville is actually not all that different from Boise, IMO. Both are pretty outdoorsy areas, low crime, etc.

I've been hearing Petersen too and that if Petersen falls through Franklin won't.. Not sure it happens but we'll see.
Also heard the new coach would be announced in 10 days.
This info is worth every penny you paid for it.

If the 10 day timeframe is accurate then I'm skeptical it's Patterson, Peterson or Gundy because all three play next week and I just don't see any of them leaving before the last regular season game. Bowl game, yes, but not a regular season game. The 10 day would allow a few days after next week's games so I'm betting it will be a Monday 12/3 announcement regardless.

I don't think Briles wants to leave Texas.
I don't think we will hear anything for a week anyway since the job has to be posted and there is a "process" that has to be taken since it is a state job and all and the job wasn't officially open until this morning.
Wait, I mean, Long just started the search this morning, he is so far behind we'll be lucky to have a coach next year, we'll have to resort to player coaches next year. - typical HV response.
