Helpful Tips:
HOW TO SWITCH PACKS
Remove any items from around the pack you want to pick up.
Click your current pack in your inventory.
"Drop" your current pack.
Scroll over the new pack with your mouse wheel, and select, "Take --- Pack" (the new one)
Now, "Open" your old pack lying on the ground, and transfer your gear to your new pack.
Pack Sizes
Czech Vest Pouch (6 slots)
Coyote Patrol Pack (8 slots)
Assault Pack (12 slots)
Czech Backpack (16 slots)
ALICE Pack (20 slots)
Coyote Backpack (24 slots)
Right click is your friend
You DO NOT spawn in together. Your spawn is displayed for a couple seconds in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It is the SECOND line, the top line is simply the name of the island, Chernarus. Use the map to link up from there.
Once you leave one server, you respawn in the exact spot you were, with all your gear, in the next. If you die, you lose everything and respawn in another random location on the coast. If you meet up, then all disconnect together, you can all connect to a new server and still be together in the map.
The second row of words are in russian and should be ignored.
Running through buildings with two sets of doors will lose the zombies chasing you...if you do it correctly. Bring Zombies into a two story or more building and they walk upon entry, allowing you to melee kill them with hatchets or shoot them.
Dont wait in a building holding loot for your friends to find you. That was my mistake. Cost me very, very dearly, not only my life, but countless rounds of ammunition and a sniper rifle.
You can server hop at a loot point and rack up loot, but if you stay too long, you may find someone else there, and they may beat you to the draw.

ill join up with you guys. ill be playing damn near every night till i get tired of the game. not sure how quick i can meet up though. whats the easiest way to get a map in game? right now ive been flying blind without one, so getting to bor or wherever to meet up will be a chore. not sure what server your on either...
on a side note i was doing the server switch respawn for loot last night in a barn and did it a few times an racked up on the loot. a larger pack would come in damn useful. anyway a couple odd things did happen while server switching. on one of the servers i switched to the barn i had been in was burned/tore down. i didnt realize buildings could be destroyed. i spawned, and was like wtf the barn go?? then the last time i spawned, a guy came across my speakers and said 'your spawning in now, im right above you' he was sitting at the top of the stairs with his shotgun trained on me i was like 'oh shite, im dead' he said 'were not gonna have any trouble are we' i said nope, and he said good i dont want to kill ya. i was sweating bullets till he said that then i thought about killing him, but karmas a bitch. proceeded to verify that he had already taken all the loot worth a damn, then called it a night. oh yea i broke my leg, am i for sure sol, or is there hope?

The videos are awesome, killed a lot of time at work yesterday laughing at those. Downloaded Arma2Free and then picked up OA off a site for $13 as suggested at another forum, and got everything installed last night and working. I didn't log much playtime, but yeah, I could see this being addictive.

This has probably been done/asked somewhere in this thread, but figured I'd ask.
I bought both Arma 2 and OA, just to play Day Z, but like a retard, I ran the Day Z patch updater before launching OA through steam. Now I get 8/10 of the checkboxes in steam indicating readiness, then it just closes and doesn't launch. Anyone run into this and have a fix? Thanks.
