Goal Line technology is now an absolute certainty

Notice where the refs head is

Doesn't matter, flag stayed down. The goal should have counted. If a guy that close can't see it, it is time for technology.

Offsides errors will be part of the game, but leaving the only thing that matters subject to human error is criminal... as an England fan surely you understand this...

Agreed, but why have a 5th official if the guy can't make a simple call like that??

Also as an England fan saying that a it doesnt matter that they missed the goal because they needed two anyway is extremely hypocritical (see WC RO16)

In FIFA maybe but not UEFA. That would be admitting failure. But, it wouldn't have mattered. Group D would still have been ENG/FRA.

Platini is campaigning big time to be the next FIFA president, he isnt going to go rogue about an issue as big as this

He was clearly offside. Maybe a couple of feet

We will never know though, ive seen weird things happen in 1-0 games in the second half when a team equalizes especially on your home turf, you never know what Ukraine might have been able to do in ~18 minutes at 1-1

The offsides wasn't egregious and within expected human error IMHO. The goal miss was inexcusable.

Nothing to do with anything...the OP was stating that it's time for replay. Which is 100% right

Don't understan that logic. One missed call "doesn't matter" but the other does? Especially when the one that "doesn't matter" is the only reason the second one was even possible.

It wasn't like he was a head or shoulder offside. The guy was clearly offsides, not even close. His entire body was probably a yard behind the last defender. The ball was maybe two inches over the line. You guys are hilarious.
