Boiled peanuts, boiled crabs.

Anything worth going out of my way for?

Some some places on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. That Guy knows his stuff, right?

Wash house and Camillia Cafe are our favorites. Fairhope Inn gets alot of love on this board.

Camillia is likely the most consistant.

That being said, Wash House had a Prime Veal T-Bone as a special last summer-probably 16 oz or so-that was one of the best meals of my life. I shocked. I tried to go back the next night....they were out.

Ended up hiring Dragonfly Foodbar, really cool tapas and beer place, tiny, but pumping out great fusion tacos and noodle bowls. Had steak, soft shell crab taco and lobster fried rice.

Anything I shouldn't miss for lunch on the way back? I've had the Shed, not too excited about that being the only thing on the way back to BR.

The Bicycle shop in downtown Mobile is worth a stop. Felix's is solid but there's nothing there that you can't get at most good restaurants.

I'm unfamiliar with that place. It looks like there is a Middendorf's in Louisiana. The only Louisiana restaurants I'm familiar with are the popular ones in the New Orleans area although I'm a bit familiar with the Mandeville area as I have family there. On that note, I recommend the Broken Egg for breakfast.

Was a really cool place before it burned down about 7 or 8 years ago. There is a bar in downtown Fairhope directly 1 block over across the street from Camillia Cafe where a lot of the college age thru 30 something aged crowd goes now instead. I was in there last summer with a friend who lives in Fairhope and the "scenery" was amazing. Can't think of the name of the bar though.
