Thank you for the lovely comments. Anyways someone asked for proof. On page 1 of the LSU employment application they ask for your SS# and your birth date. Page 3 asks for your race. All three are required information. Why does LSU need that for an initial application for employment? Now for the proof on the software that screens out qualified candidates. I have put in a hyperlink below showing you the proof. 3rd paragraph, 1st sentence unless you want to read the entire article. Enjoy the CWS my friends. Good night!

Do you know it costs money for a company to pull a credit bureau? You really think LSU pulls a bureau for every tom dick and harry that applies for a job at LSU? OR (ok you might have to use your one brain cell for this?) Just maybe... They request the info so that incase you are chosen for the job they can do a background check.

Im guessing you meant 5th paragraph??
I dont see where it states that the software violates EEOC and FCRA. OR that LSU has software that does so.
Here is my proof:
From the FCRA § 616. Civil liability for willful noncompliance [15 U.S.C. § 1681n]
"(b) Civil liability for knowing noncompliance. Any person who obtains a consumer report from a consumer reporting agency under false pretenses or knowingly without a permissible purpose shall be liable to the consumer reporting agency for actual damages sustained by the consumer reporting agency or $1,000, whichever is greater."
•Age Discrimination in Employment Act, 29 U.S.C. §621
•Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. §2000e

Ok Catman so why does LSU want your birth date, SS# and race?

So you are braindead. Did you miss where I stated the reason?

Your name calling let's everyone know that you really don't know what you're talking about. I work at LSU and have seen all of this first hand numerous times. I have seen applications pulled by race and age. Most job openings are already filled before the position is advertised. The position is advertised so that they are viewed as being in compliance. There is not an attorney that would take a discrimination case against LSU with any hopes of winning. The computer program allows you to pull a certain number of applications by race and age. With that being said I would like for you to explain to me how that is not discrimination by the universities or companies that use this software. There is not enough employees at any HR to review each and every application. Sorry to disappoint you. You're not a bad person, just simply a misinformed person. I still consider you a friend. You guys coming over for the family BBQ tomorrow? Ask your wife to bring the southern potato salad that she made famous.
