Most of the top 15 are physical specimens? No they are not! Davis, Drummond, MKG and the Jones boys are the only physical specimens in the draft. The rest are just basketball bodies...
Leonard is getting way too overrated for me at this point and he is just getting traction because he is 7'1. Like I said he may be solid but before the end of the season he wasn't even a bonafide lottery pick!
We have to take a calculated risk at the 10 spot to get a core player. We need a scorer and defender, preferably rolled into one player. I say if its a guard it has to be Rivers bc of his shooting, penetration, and ball handling abilities.
If its a big man, it has to be Drummond or Moultrie because they have the bodies to contribute sooner than later. Zeller and Leonard will never be All Star material. We've seen that type of player come in recently... Aldrich, Collison, can't remember the guy from Ohio State recently, etc. They don't pan out. Serviceable yes, difference maker and potential starter, no.
They are non lottery players and would be solid additions if picked say after the 15th pick. But for my 10 spot, I need starter material.
Sullinger is hands down better than Zeller and Leonard and most scouts are skeptical of him being starter material because of his physical limitations but some wanna draft Leonard over him if he still on the board? Cmon people, the big man spot is the hardest to draft but I'm not drafting a big man who has reached his ceiling already.
That's why Howard went before Oak bc the Howard potential was too great to not draft #1. Same with Drummond if he slips to us. We got Davis, so were playing with house money at 10. Drummond offers potential greatness if he puts it together. Zeller and Leonard offer backup players who we'll be looking to replace in the starting lineup after 2-3 years if they even show they are capable of starting for stretches at a time.
Put it this way? Kwame Brown went #1 off his skill set at the time and we know Drummond is exceptionally better at the same stage... So Drummond can't get picked 10th if he is still on the board? Zeller and Leonard don't even have the look to be on a big three billboard!
Leonard just got handled in combine workouts the other day and Royce White was the best big man that day! Cmon.

And not to get on stereotypes but as someone pointed out earlier, white American tall players who lack certifiable skill don't pan out. Jason Smith, Spencer Hawes, Dirk, Ryan Anderson... They are panning out not because of their physicality but bc of an appreciable skill, namely their shooting ability. The rest don't pan out bc they are average physical players and can't physically compete night in and night out.
Look at the teams that made the playoffs, besides Dirk and Hawes, and I just stated why they are panning out, name another white post player that has had an impact?
Now obviously they're exceptions to the rule, but I honestly can't remember or know of a dominant or All Star white post player since McHale. Sabonis, Ronnie Seikly?
Just doesnt happen and Leonard and Zeller will not change that anytime soon.
However, I do like the guy at Indiana right now so we will see about him, but don't try to sell me on Leonard or Seller and Dell and Monty know this fact as well.
I can promise you they would pick Moultrie over those two!
