I have always been a ford guy and still am, however I decided to downgrade from a 250 to a 150 and am very very disappointed. Not by choice but I am pretty hard on trucks using them on the farm. I have a 2011 lariat with less than 60k miles and have spent over a grand on the air conditioner once and am about to do it again. Ford would not cover the repair because the problem was caused by dust. Also, I have had problems with the door locks not working because of dust. At first I thought I had bought a lemon but I have heard the same story about the door locks from several others. I love the truck and think it would be great, just not in the conditions it faces in the dust on the farm. I have had 250s and even run a z71 on the farm and have never had these problems. Anyone else seen this ?

My grandfather ran 100 series on farms for years w no issues but that was in barebones days. I was just thinking today how ive never been quite as emotionally attached to a vehicle as I am to my 250 7.3l. It feels like a true machine. Go back to it.

I abuse mine, it gets pretty dusty during deer season but never have problems. I go through air filters in like 1/3 of the time they're supposed to last though 2007 STX.

Never heard of this problem with any of their trucks, but all of the trucks i've seen subjected to farm conditions have been work trucks, hand crank windows, extended bed, rubber floors, etc.

This is the first time that I have heard of this problem. Thats a damn shame that youre having it. I do not work my truck hard so Ive never had any of those problems. Hopefully someone will chime in with a fix or preventive measures that you can take.

I do know that on the Ram 1500s you can add a HVAC filter very easily. I have not looked into it for my F150 but it might be a possibility.

Don't see how switching from a 250 to a 150 would matter.

Unfortunately it's not bs they are feeding me. I made them show me the last evaporator they changed and it was def a dirt problem. There are about 4 people I know of that are having the same trouble with the door locks. It just seems to be people with 2010 and older 150's.

ok

I can see dust screwing that up. And no doubt it could screw up some power locks and stuff if it gets in the right spots.

That sucks man. Somebody else said something about adding an HVAC. I'd definitely look into that. As far as the door locks, that's just shitty.
