Deer with a strong game flavor

Last year I killed the biggest deer of my life. It was a 10pt that went 210lbs. It was an old deer that was in the peak of its rut. When it was in the back of my truck you could smell that nasty bastard from about 40' away. Well after cleaning and deboning him I let it soak for about 8 days letting the water out of the icechest daily. I processed it with a doe I killed 2 days before and now my whole batch of meat (which I had seasoned when processing) has a very strong gamey(sp.) taste. This weekend I took out some backstrap to fry. I ran it through the tenderizer and soaked it in milk for 2 days. Still same result gamey as frick. I also took some of that backstrap that was in the milk and tried to marinade it in italian dressing (which should be a sin) in an effort to knock out some of that bad taste and still same result. Anyone have any tricks I can try or do I just have to just deal with it. ETA none of the other deer I have ever processed have tasted this way.

I've had some bad ones before but I just deal with it. I still love me some deer meat on the grill

I add a lil vinegar in the water when soaking the meat and that seems to help draw some of that out....

This. Every mature buck I've ever killed had a real gamey taste. Although, I do somewhat enjoy it, (tolerate I should say) my wife won't eat it. I just cook it down in a stew, or sauce piquant. Although, it still has the taste, but with the different flavors it neutralizes it.

Have used vinegar before, it works.
An old black woman in St. Francisville told me about milk.
The absolute best I have ever used was to add milk to the marinade and soak that shite for a day or so. Works on anything, made a big boar I shot last year taste as sweet as a little piglet slow roasted in an oven bag.
Milk is now the base of all of my marinades on wild game.
