They live off the land and do a lot of hunting and fishing, looks like a good show. Just a heads-up.

The start of the show when the guy chops up the deers head and feeds to his dog is pretty cool. I bet that dog has never had processed dog food in its life.

I liked the show and will watch again but got sick of hearing about bears. I wish some of these show would be more reality and not try so hard to make things dangerous.

It's constant work. For guys who live out there and there are plenty that do, there are no days off.

Saw some of that - the Alanskan trapper guy seems to be very smart. Does the N. Carolina guy run some sort of wilderness school on his property?

Yes I believe they said he does. He's got a few buildings and from what he said starts a family out at Turtle Ranch and then as they get accustomed to everything he moves them down to Rabbit Creek(or something like that). The guy helping him build the deer stand was staying there trying to learn survival skills. I think they said at the beginning of the show that he charges them a fee and that is what he uses to cover his bills for the year.
