I have a weimaraner. She's about 8 yrs old now. Had her before we had the kids. Kids came along and she is wonderful with them. My son is 6 and girl is 3. She lets them walk her around, yank on her ears when they were babies, etc. Very patient and a great little mother hen!
Very smart, loyal, and energetic dog. Mine seems to have lonliness issues... can't stand to be alone. Always wants to be at someones side. We let her inside and out.
I was working with her to duck hunt the rice fields with me, but then baby boy came along and I didn't have time to work with her. But very capable hunting dog too. She was up to marking 3 dummies and retrieving before we stopped.
I highly recommend this breed! But be prepared to excersice her daily ALOT. Luckily I live on a quiet street, and I would get on my bike at full speed and she'd be running along like it was nothing. She's lost a step now though finally after 8 years.
