I got it for $887. Came with two 20 rd clips. After contacting DPMS they basically said shoot only american made ammo at 165 to 168 grain. Per recommendation from a maniac friend that has several AR type rifles, I got three boxes of HSM Gold 308 boat tail hollow points to try first. Ordered a Leopold rifleman 3X9X50 with burris extra high mounts yesterday for $299. That should get me started. I'm jizzing myself waiting to take it out and start breaking it in.

Good price.

Did DPMS say that the 165-168 would/should be the most accurate ammo, or were they saying you couldn't/shouldn't shoot anything else in that rifle ??

As I said, I've had mine for a few years. Broke it in per DPMS instructions (which I've since learned may not have really been necessary), and then tried Federal & Black Hills in 168 grain match grade (BTHP), and got OK results.

But in my rifle (maybe not in yours) the Hornady 150 grain SST will put 5 shot groups in a single .30 caliber hole at 100 yards.

So I ended up buying a batch of the Hornady SST and stuck the Federal & Black Hills ammo in my "ammo closet."
