Make no mistake - if Drew QB'd in a maedia darling market like NY, Cal, Chicago he'd be down as the best hands down. I'd be willing to bet he's done more for his community off the field than the other mentioned QB's as well.
When you factor in the culture-building done by Coach Payton and Drew in the N.O. market it's monumental. The transgression from (arguably) the worst sports organization to an elite one (even though the media likes to suppress that) is something for Ripley's.

If starting a team right now I'd take Rodgers over Brees just based on age, but talent-wise right now...I'm not sure there is that much difference btw the 2.
Agreed, but if i had a 1 or 2 year shot at a ring, I pick Brees and it's not even close.

Every QB has a system. What worked for Chad Pennington won't work for Stafford and vice versa.
The author doesnt agree with you because according to him Eli and Big Ben, as well as Brady and Peyton I'm assuming, can run ANY system successfully.

Rodgers is def better than Brees.

You act like it is an indisputable fact. I think Rodgers is slightly better, but I can see the argument made for the all time yards leader and the all time completion % leader. Throw in Brees' playoff numbers and it gets interesting

Heck, Ben Roethlisberger, Rodgers and Eli Manning are better quarterbacks than Brees because they can play in any NFL system.
I do think Rodgers is better than Brees.

I know the Saints fanbase is just like any other with its share of irrational people but I think the majority of Saints fans have more of a problem with saying Rothlesberger and Eli are better than him saying Rodgers is better.
Also, not really a compliment to Rodgers either putting those 2 on the same level as him.

Hearing and debating this thought that Brees is not an elite QB makes me want to go on a shooting rampage.
There are a few things that we can say with 100% certaininty.
#1 Drew plays in probably the most difficult QB system to be succesful in . He puts up gauty numbers because he is so damn accurate, and he makes great decisions. HE IS NOT a "system guy".
#2 He is far and away better than Rapistburger and Eli manning. No questions asked.
#3 Brees, Brady, Manning, and Rogers all have their arguments in being the number 1 in the game. Rodgers has youth on his side, with one great season. Manning has 26 years of great numbers. Brady had the 1 stellar year with 3 SB wins and 2 other appearances. Brees has had 6 outstanding years with a SB win, and numberous all time records broken. Trying to argue that Rodgers is "hands down" better is such an ignorant assed statement it makes my brain throb.
If he can continue his success for another 8 years, then yeah. But as of now, GTFO with those assisnine statements.
#4 If we would have had a downright mediocre defense to help Brees in the last 2 years of the playoffs, we may haveanother lombardi or two in our case. That is a God dang fact.

Lets play a game of who's better:
Jennings - Colston
Nelson - Moore/Henderson
Driver - Henderson/Meachum
Finley - Graham

I think Rodgers has the best physical tools. I've seen him get pressure in his face, roll out of the pocket and throw a 40 yard rope without setting his feet. I'm not sure who else in the league can do that.

I agree. But Jamarcus Russel could throw it from his knees for 80 yards.
I know that isnt a fair statement as Rodgers isnt a bum.
All i am saying is that longevity coupled with success in this league is something that isnt had with just crazy skills. (Mike Vick)

Well I think if we would have started off the year with the o-line we ended the season with that Brees would have shattered even more record, even possibly breaking the passer rating record.
Not only that, I'm certain we would have been the 2 seed at least. Olin Fricking Kruetz.

THAT IS A FRICKIN POINT!!!
How quickly i had forgotten about that debacle.
Jesus H. the Rams game would have turned out so much differently.
remember being sooooo happy we "stole" olin kruetz". My God what a frickin disaster he was.
Our running game literally got exponentially better when he got his lazy arse out of the game.
Posted on 5/25/12 at 8:32 am to thedice20
Olin was already out by the time we played the Rams. The reason we lost to the Rams is because we just laid an Epic arse whooping on the Colts, and we didn't prepare the way we normally do.
I'm certain we would have whooped Tampa arse. That game Olin was getting blown up on almost every play. We couldn't run the ball for shite that game and everyone runs on Tampa.
We could have possibly won in Green Bay, but...whatever.

Aw shite, i was just looking for an excuse for the Rams game i guess. I was too lazy to look it up.
It was just frustrating how we blew the Rams and Tampa game.
2 EASY wins should have been had. An easy #2 seed was right in front of us.

It's all good man. I'm a bit extreme when it comes to following the team. In the off season I rewatch the games several times (except for the SF game...it's too painful).
I'm really hopeful for this season just for the simple fact that last season was probably the worst linebacker play I can remember in a Saints uniform.

I havent rewatched the SF game either.
I start rewatching the games in July normally.
I almost struck my wife yesterday because she wanted to delete all the saints games on my DVR.

Just divorce her. That'll teach her.
