On the open market, Brees wouldn’t command the same bidding war as a Tom Brady, an Eli Manning or an Aaron Rodgers.
Eli Manning? Really? Stopped reading right there.

I watch Drew Brees play, and Sean Payton's offense, and even I am smart enough to tell that it's a great combination.

Drew Brees is our Peyton Manning. He's the best QB we've ever had. Won us a Super Bowl.

From an ESPN Article on Peyton Manning, implying no negativity towards Manning nor adjustments his team would be required to make.

quote:

Peyton Manning takes a 2011 playoff team to the Super Bowl, which the Broncos win, of course. I find this scenario to be unlikely, but it is possible -- because I won’t doubt the greatness of Manning. For this to occur, Manning’s new teammates will have to quickly adapt to an offense that is extremely different than what they ran with Tim Tebow behind center. But of course, Manning will be orchestrating it and can get an awful lot of out his teammates.

Almost the same statement about Brees if he played elsewhere, but written in a term derogatory to the quarterback

quote:

Yes, Brees would be valuable to teams without a quality quarterback, but they all would have to adjust their offense to what has been successful in New Orleans and do it the Sean Payton way.

See, the funny thing is the guy can't even think of the possibility that maybe...just maybe the organization or coaches in Diego were shite and holding him back. It's this same type of media garbage that the talking heads use to give Payton Manning all the MVPs while Brees breaks records and gets no credit for anything.

For Eli to be mentioned in that group is a fricking joke.

Yeah, and that was during Marty ball where they didn't throw much while letting solider Def. and RB play win the game. In that system he still did well. The thing to me is if these experts haven't bought in to Drew now they never will. He will get paid, possibly get another ring and be in the HOF and they can all kiss his butt!
