Here is how he gets to that point..

Wouldn't mind having Asik. We would have one hell of a 4/5 core with Trob, JSmoove, Ayon, Asik, FabMelo.

Not quite sure I would gamble on Jeff Green, especially as a starter.

Rivers isn't ready to be a starting PG in the NBA. I would have JJack starting before him.

I like Jeff Green, but has he fully recovered? Seemed like a pretty serious condition he was dealing with.

Yea, I remember them saying his career could possibly be over when he was first dealing with the condition. I don't know it that is worth the risk

Would rather draft a SF than a PG with the second pick. I actually like Jack playing PG for this team.

i agree with this i actually think jack could be a relatively serviceable pg with the right supporting cast

Agree, I think PG is one of our lowest needs. Especially If we have great pieces around him.

I don't think Rivers is a PG period.

I love Asik, but 9M a year? I guess that is the price you'd have to pay so Chicago won't match but seems excessive for someone who can't score.

And I want to stab this dude in the throat for saying Harrison Barnes worst case scenario is Danny Granger.

And why is his basketball blog named Offsides?

I really think our team will be revamped this offseason through free agency after the draft is over. We are going to have considerable cap space, especially if we amnesty Okafor like many say we will.

Some of those moves may actually happen.

I had to do a little prorating to get their stats out to 48 minutes, but in 48 minutes Jack and Vasquez combined for
19.8 ppg 9.4 apg 3.7 topg

Not stellar numbers but certainly more than adequate for the PG position.

Exactly, we are used to CP3 doing everything. All you need in a point guard if you have good supporting cast is good passing and low turnovers

That Asik contract is ridiculous and this team doesn't need him, especially if you swing a trade for Melo or draft a Center. They can start Smith or Okafor, until the other guy is ready. I just don't think they will Amnesty Okafor. If he can get you 10/10 healthy, just start him or rotate him with Smith. If they get you 22/16/4 blocks combined a game, that's not a horrible mix.

So, is maxing out Gordon a forgone conclusion? I think everybody knows he's not a max guy, so is nobody else nervous about making that type of commitment?

I'm not going to lie-fletch clearly doesn't know a lot about basketball (he thinks Jack can be Nick Collison?)

But he does read a lot of ESPN.

And the Green/Monty thing is great insight. So is the Rivers/Monty thing.

Only part I don't like is the amnestying Oak. That just doesn't make any sense--the dude is a servicable center and only slightly overpaid. Keep him as the starter as you bring along Melo.

Okay, that's it. I have to take a ride to New Orleans and find this "Fletch" character and have a heart-to-heart with him. Part of the things I want to ask is "why do you get to live?"

When he answers me in a fashion that I don't like, I will then stab the shite out of him, to set me, and all of the rest of the hornets fans free.

He still has a link to a hypothetical trade from 2008 at the top of his site. The trade?

Hornets Receive:
SG J.J. Redick
PF Brian Cook
C Marcin Gorat

Magic Receive:
PG: Mike James
C/PF Melvin Ely

That would have been nice
