Dat a bigass hog. They cooked a 140lb pig at a golf tourney I played in this past weekend. It fed about 80 with leftovers..

Okay, so I went to the Whole Hog dinner last night. Fantastic! Here’s a quick rundown…..

On tap – Bayou Teche beer (Biere Pale and Passionne)

Wine – Red, Cote du Rhone – White, Vinho Verde

Pass around hors d'oeuvres – fried pork rinds with cane syrup, pork rillettes on toast with pickles, pork belly sandwiches with cucumbers & mayo dressing

Family style dinner – roasted beets, warm broccoli salad, smothered green beans with bacon, ratatouille, pork, pork and more pork, pork crackling, blueberry bread pudding

Thoughts – a really great evening. Small Cajun band on the patio. Beer and wine served in glasses, not plastic cups. No lines for beer. Wait staff pleasantly efficient. Other than the beets (which I don’t care for in general), all the food was delicious and plentiful. Considering the amount of beer, wine and food I consumed, $50 was a great bargain. Will definitely go back for the next one.

Other than that it sounds absolutely awesome. Could you choose your part of the pig or was it take whatever you got?
