Well, the fact that you are in Dane County has to be considered. While the state overall gave Obama a 56-42 win in 2008, Dane County gave McCain a 74-26 beheading. I would have been stunned if your personal experience with those around you would have revealed anything different.
Well yes, but I've spent more time in Milwaukee, which is where most of those friends are from. Of course it went left last time as well, by a large margin. It was Green Bay, Stevens Point, and the populated northern counties who went McCain.

I thought his numbers were just numbers released earlier than normal (by BLS), but not inaccurate. Was that not the case?

They are numbers from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wagesthat receives actual numbers from 98% of businesses in the state. As opposed to the monthly surveys that take a small number of respondents and then extrapolate it. From NPR, you know that bastion of conservative media. LINK

So has Wisconsin's employment outlook become better or worse? According to a new and more reliable jobs report, the BLS report cited by the Democrats is inaccurate. As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports today, the BLS "figures were based on a sample of 3.5% of the state's employers and are subject to significant revisions." According to the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages — which is a hard count of actual jobs in Wisconsin, not a survey — the state actually gained more than 30,000 since Walker took office.

Man, I really would have thought the BLS would base their numbers on a larger sample than that! When's this recall election again? I need to follow this closer.
