Not one more word about weather, Big Ten fans.

No more cracks at the SEC's weak history of traveling out of the South.

No more rants at how the SEC avoids playing in the cold.

No more pining for a significant SEC-Big Ten game in Big Ten country instead of Florida, New Orleans or Dallas.

You lost that right this week. Your conference favors the warmth and brand of the Rose Bowl for semifinal playoff games instead of campus sites -- the very idea your own commissioner was championing in February.

Ive been on many a Big 10 board with fans griping about SEC and/or warm weather teams not being able to deal with the elements in the north late in the football season...snow...sleet...rain etc. The Big 10, with a chance to have playoff games in their stadiums and possibly in these conditions has decided they dont want that..really?..they want the Rose Bowl...really?. How do fans of the Big 10 feel about this....Ive seen some fans calling for Delaneys head.

If this thing is all about money.....wouldnt they make more money having the games at home as opposed to on the west coast or in the south? Who doesnt want "home field advantage"?

the key is who makes the money. A playoff means more money for the schools perhaps, but not the bowls and more importantly the bowl officials who are golfing buddies with conference commissioners and Athletic Directors. If there are home playoff games, Jim Delany and the other AD's don't have a reason to have junket in So Car, fly on a private jet to play golf, I mean discuss the contract.

the Big Ten cares too much about education to concern itself over the location of playoff games...

This should be the case for every university BTW.

The Big Ten cares only bout the Rose Bowl & its Big Ten/Pac 12 tradition. And ABC/Rose Bowl tv monies. Yet, when is the last time any Big Ten team was in the NCG to make this even close to relevant? Once in how many yrs now? Any SEC fan would love to travel to the Big House or the Horse Shoe, especially Camp Randall & its crazy reputation. I am sure Bama fans enjoyed Joe Pa Stadium.

Personally, I think that home playoff game idea would have failed anyway, although I was for it.

Delany's job is to maximize money for the schools in his conference. He does a good job on that front. The teams haven't produced on the field, but it's obvious they have NFL talent.

I'm still for the 8 team playoff that i've been pushing for years

8 Teams is too many. Give me a 6 team playoff, and let the top two seeds get a bye week.

Ummm, 3 times in the last 11 years. Only one team has more appearances in the same time period.
