Claiborne was a GREAT athlete. Made a lot of great plays in the secondary. How much will he be missed? Will his loss make a major difference in the defense or, will they just plug another Claiborne in?

The level at which Claiborne was playing will be missed. There is certainly the talent to plug in another CB, but I'm not sure they are ready to play at that elite level yet.

I hope I'm wrong and a CB plays lights out this year.

Huge. Hopefully someone will step up and fill that role, but that is one helluva role to fill. Hopefully big Sam and Mingo will make the secondary a boring place to be this year

Have no facts on this.. just a hunch.. I'm thinking Honey Badger's play suffers some from Claiborne being gone. Claiborne was good.. Made some great plays. Also.. what about Brockers? Is there anyone to step in for him?

Much more than when PP7 left. How much though? Depends on how well Collins plays really. Last year, PP7 leaves, and we had the proven guy, Mo, with the unknown, HB7, with Brooks and Simon backing them up. We knew Brooks was a quality guy, and we saw flashes of good play from Simon.

But now, we have Simon and HB7, two proven and capable commodities, with a medium sized question mark for Collins, and a gigantic question mark for the 4th guy in. Add to that the fact that the bitch-arse Bucs took Ron Cooper, and we might be in for some serious shite this year if someone goes down for a few weeks.

A great D-line can make an average secondary look really good.

I also think Collins and Jenkins will be good enough so that Tyrann doesn't have to play Cb all the time. Tharold will hold down one side of the field and Collins,Jenkins,Thomas will all be good. There will be a drop off,but i still think we have the best secondary in the country.

HB7 is going to be so dominant this year, as a tackler, we're going to have to start referring to him as a LineBnickler Back ®.

Pretty sure we'll at least see a slight drop-off from that position. Honey Badger is a great player and Simon has shown he can start easily. However, Simon can't catch a cold and he has shown quicker WRs can abuse his height. Honey Badger is best when he's a freelance player and we have no idea what we have out of Jenkins/Collins...

TM7 doesn't have Claiborne to lock a side down completely, so unless the other two guys show they can be lockdown CBs...he won't be able to freelance as much.

We won't be near invincible like last year in the secondary but we'll still be one of the best in the country. They're going to target Jenkins/Collins before anybody in the secondary. So they better be ready early and often.

We will miss him just as much as we missed PP7.

I think we'll be fine. We were all worried about departure of PP7 then Mo stepped up. Just need the next guy(s) to step up and keep this thing going.

The only guy that could step up and play even close to his level will be Simon. Will he? Idk but he will be our best corner either way. I don't really like TM7 on the outside as much as I do at the nickel. Jalen Collins or David Jenkins would be better on the outside IMO

This. Defensive line will help us out a lot. Also with Arkansas game at end of year it helps us get DB's ready. Not sure about Washington, but really we don't play a lot of pass oriented teams.

No one does, but he's still better than the other options at this point.

On the other hand, how much did we miss Dorsey, Hester and Flynn?

A hell of a lot.
