Probably was, but the only regular season game I saw live that year we lost 28-2.

FWIW, I went to the media guide and looked it up.

Regular season record (before SEC Tourny)

1990 44-15
1991 43-16
1992 43-13
1993 41-14-1
1994 38-18
1995 42-14
1996 43-13
1997 45-11
1998 41-15
1999 36-19-1

Thank you I knew the stat was wrong. All those years we won 50+ games with a shorter postseason made it impossible not to have won 40 games more than twice. CWS took less wins, no Super Regional, and SEC tournament might have even been shorter.

Yea, I was gonna say, '97 won damn near 60 games without a super regional

Probably the most dominant team LSU has ever had.

I think 98 was just as good, just gave away the wrong 2 games of the season

what's 53+3?
The S Carolina games don't count. I consider them to be the start of the post season.

Could y'all imagine being Ole Miss or Florida State baseball fans?

We are so lucky to have a premiere program like we have at LSU.

Been there (to CWS) 20 times w/no wins. At least they get there, but GOTTA be frustrating! Imagine going to 20 BCS Championship games and not winning! Heck, last January is STILL killing me.

Has FSU ever one the CWS? I know they've been quite a few times. I would think FSU has a pretty good program, hard to compare to Ole Miss.

They are top 10 every year. How many CWS appearances have they had? And how many NCs have they had.

At least for me, getting eliminated in Omaha is rough. Losing 2 games the same day against Southern Cal was one of the worst days ive ever had as an LSU fan of any sport. Second to that was that bomb UNC hit off Coleman in 08 and then both losses to South Carolina in 03 and 04.

But we have had the pleasure of watching our team win the last game in Omaha SIX times.

Every time FSU has been to Omaha they have lost. That must suck. That's my point.

20 CWS appearances and 0 titles for FSU.

That sucks arse.

Oh, that. Okay, but no way the FSU program can be compared to Ole Miss' program. That was what confused me.

Of course, I've been confused this entire thread....

I wasn't comparing the two. I was stressing how great we have it as opposed to Ole Miss (always top 25 and never been) and to FSU (always top 10, gets to Omaha every year, and won as many national titles as I have).

Yep. To be one game away from a chance at a three-peat (which I think only USC has done) and to watch it slip away was fricking terrible. If I think about it long enough it still bothers me.
