Yeah we are 6th in runs and 4th in avg for SEC games. Makes you wonder where we'd be if some of those double plays were avoided

Well, with 2 of the 3 teams ahead of us in OBP not being mentioned in the DP stats, it's safe to assume there are other factors involved.

Team speed, which relates directly and indirectly, along with the management of base runners. We're not very good at stealing bases, bunting, or hitting for power.

Situational hitting is a part of the game. We have a singles hitting team with an incredibly good grasp of the distance to the warning track and the traditionally manned spots of the infield.

A lot of double plays means there have been a lot of runners on first base.

and no timely hitting, especially extra base hits!

I've got no intelligent answer to the DP problem, but dang it seems like we're on a record setting pace in this dept.

I have NO IDEA how this team has as good a record as it does. We've got zero speed, we can't stay out of DP's, can't hit for power, our base running has been puke worthy, yet if we win 2/3 this weekend, we'll probably get a national seed.

Freakin wierd is what it is.

Sounds to me like a pretty decent coaching job. No wait that can't be it.

With our terrible hitting and less than superior bass running....we are still second in runs scored
Yeah, that's the thing that has me skeptical. I'm not a baseball guy, but I read all the "experts" on here talking about how terrible our batting is, and how stupid our baserunning and coaching is. And then I see this stat and I think, "well, besides batting and baserunning, what leads to scoring?" And I just don't believe our opponents are committing that many errors.

nah, that can't be it...our coaches suck worse than our players....the other teams must just suck more.
