I asked my wife this same god damn question. I mean we have her appointments mapped out with time for the rest of her entire pregnancy. My question was simply why make an appointment several months out if you can't keep it? Also, there are no consequences for it in the medical industry. I made a case for bringing this up to the secretary.....all that resulted in was a pissed off pregnant wife

I've tried first thing in the morning. It's still at least an hour wait.

I'm not one to defend doctors, because many routinely run late and it's many times due to selfish reasons moreso than patient problems. However, if they didn't overschedule with as many no-shows as they get, then people would bitch about having to wait 2 months before they can be seen.

My appointment was at 10:40, I'm still in the lobby with 2 people ahead of me.

You haven't gotten to the best part when they call you from the "waiting" room to go to another room only to wait some more.

At my new doctor my butt has yet to touch a chair in the waiting room. Been there about half a dozen times. Going from a doc that would have you wait an hour or two, this is wonderful.

Which is worse? Waiting in lobby 45 minutes or getting called back to a room as soon as you get there and wait 45 minutes in the room? That is my docs office...they call me back as soon as I get there then I have to for-friggin-ever on the doc...

One thing they do fairly often is schedule people starting at 8am and then the doctor actually gets into the office around 9:30. They just do all of the nurse's work and then let you sit. That way when the doctor gets in the can just run through some people realy quick

That's why this site is a blessing. Last time I went to the doctor, my appointment was at 9AM. Got there around 8:55AM and not even a minute later I was called to the back. I was thinking "good, I will be in an out"... Well the doctor didn't come to me until a few minutes after 10AM. Luckily I posted on here the whole time while waiting..

It's been an hour and I'm still in the lobby with people ahead of me. And 5 rooms in the back full.

This happens at my doc. I wait about 30 minutes in the lobby, then another good 45 in the exam room. Although I try and schedule my appointment around 7:30 or 8 am to be the first one in. It cuts my wait time in half. I also don't hold up the doctor with stupid questions, being respectful of those still waiting outside.

it all depends on the doctor and the patient.. some patients love to talk and talk some docs are the same way Some doctors really do have emerency patients.. If you get in good with the front girl, she will always put you first. That's my exprience in the medical feild.
