So the whale is Betty? I guess the 3 arrows would be Don, Megan and Sally?

I will say that glimpse of old Don tonight makes me hate Megan even more for taking him away.

I also always laugh at the previews. They are so spliced together.

At least they don't really ever give anything away.

Screw Don for screwing over Ginsberg. I've never had a dislike for Don until tonight. He needs to be more appreciative of his staff that does all the hard work for him, b/c he no longer produces ideas at the rate he used to and needs people like Peggy and Ginsberg.

Hated how in the elevator Don told Ginsberg he didn't even think about him at all when that's the exact opposite of the truth. Don came off as really weak and insecure in this episode IMO.

this Don is different from previous seasons. we are just waiting to see the 'old don' come back. i don't think he can stay this way... especially during the whole season.

really good episode..

btw.
ginsberg (ben feldman) needs to play buster keaton in a movie.

Its kind of setting up for a mutiny in the office. Ginsburg, Peggy and Harry were all bitching about being slighted this episode.

I don't see it this way at all. Don is an owner/partner and he went with his idea. His idea worked and he got the bid. Ultimately he is financially responsible for the firm and not Ginsberg. Ginsberg has nothing to lose but a job where as when you own a company, you can lose "everything you own" if the company goes south.

My viewpoint comes from a family business (of 30+ years) that eventually went out of business. When I was with the business, you listen to your employees ideas but if you think you have a better idea, you go with that. Ultimately it's your company and you can do what you want. Now that I work for someone, I realize that they aren't always going to use my ideas. You can't expect the boss to always run with your ideas.

In fact, I thought it was very childish how Ginsberg acted and what he told Don. I would never talk to my boss like that.

I think Don showed a tiny bit of insecurity in not showing Ginsberg's idea to the client, because he did not like it at all when the sales team liked Ginsberg's boards better. You are right about speaking disrespectfully to your boss -- when Ginsberg stormed out of the office after hearing that the client never heard his idea, we said "Well, he's fired if he jumps Don's shite about this."

I adored how he handled Ginsberg in the elevator. That was old Don -- he dinged Ginsberg on every snarky comment he made:

G: That's OK, I've got millions of 'em. Millions.
D: Good thing you work for me then.

G: I feel bad for you.
D: I don't think about you at all.

Screw Ginsberg. He's Don Draper.

I thought this was a very good episode. Probably my favorite of the season so far outside of Signal 30. It's nice to see Don showing some teeth again.

Epic Fat Betty arch in this one. In the space of an hour she launches a diabolical plot only to have it blow up in her face. Sally laying the death blow at the end was funny as hell.
