It's Rivers, and it's not even close.

Unless Mett and Rivers both go down, Randall will never take a meaningful snap at QB. He will switch positions at some point. The only reason he hasn't yet is due to the lack of depth at QB. Maybe he will run a special package, but he will never be 'The QB' at LSU

I think Rivers will be the #2 but keep an eye on Liggins in the fall. If he picks up the offense quickly, he could ascend to #2 in a hurry. He's a better talent than the other 2 and has the best package of skills with his arm and his legs. Plus Les loves him. Kid is Les' Rohan Davey. Not saying he's the same type of player that Davey was but has the intestinal fortitude and great leadership quality that Davey had. Will do everything possible to get that W on Saturdays.

Liggins may be okay.

I think Randall and Liggins are there to fill spots in the best way possible. Rivers is clearly going to be the back up, and more than likely the next in line to be the starter for an entire season. After that, I don't think our future QB is on the roster yet.

I believe going into fall practices, Rivers is slightly ahead of the others as Mett's back-up.

Regarding his height, it is surprising that he is 6-7--looks like a legit 6-7--since isn't Phillip Rivers only 6-1?

I would guess Rivers is 2nd on the depth chart, however Randall may actually get playing time in meaningful games.
This is what I'm thinking. Rivers will most likely be the one called upon to run the offense Mett runs, but Randall will be called upon to change things up even when Mett is healthy. Just a guess at this point, however. Hell, we might see Mathieu at QB by the time the season kicks off.

I thought Mett was backing up JJ. What did I miss?

After the last 4 years every1 should know by now that what seems the correct thing will be done is just the opposite gets done. There is no gaurantee of who the QB will be even if nobody gets hurt. What happened at the end of last year ought to tell every1 that. We spent the last how months asking why didn't Lee get a chance? Once LM saw he could play JJ last year at Bama there was no contest for anyone else to play unless JJ goes down with an injury, that did not happen JJ played on win or loose JJ played.

Better waite till the start of the 1st game before saying who will play. Mett got LM mad at him the 1st time he went in and did not throw the ball but instead pulled it down and ran. You do what LM says do or you do not play even when you are the sure bet, there is no gaurantee with LM it is what LM says that goes. The very reason the changes that have taken place on the Offensive Coaching Staff. They wanted to do what they wanted to do so they are where they can do what they want to do, just not at LSU.

Hope all that makes a little since if not what has over the last 4 years? LM has won more games than anyone at LSU just not the right games, right? Got it? Got it!

Rivers. But he would throw the ball about 8 times a game. If Mett goes down look for Ford/Ware/Hilliard/Blue/Hill to take over games. We would literally bea 95% run team. And with our road graders, we would be just fine

Neither are close to Mett in arm strength.

I've heard on multiple occasions that Randle has the strongest arm on the team. He just needs to work on accuracy. Just bc he's a Mobile quarter back don't compare him to JJ. He's a MUCH better runner then JJ and has a stronger arm. Time will tell if he can ever learn the play book and get his accuracy down so he can make contributions, but he is a very good talent and his high school film was very good. I think if Mett goes down Rivers will get the first shot though he and Randle may split time.

Lee didn't play down the stretch because of Lee. Even the AD alluded to it when asked his thoughts on Lee not playing. I am not sure what exactly Lee did to get punished but LSU is keeping it in house. I have heard rumors of what it was but don't know which of the rumors is true.

Les is taking the heat for not playing Lee because Les will not throw his players names and rep under the bus.

Exactly. I heard that Lee was supposed to graduate in December and when he didn't, it cost us a scholly and Patrick Miller? went elsewhere. While Miles COULDT comment on Lee's grades he pretty much said so when asked by a reporter about Lee not playin and Miles responded that sometimes players need to focus on school rather than football

I don't think they are allowed to comment on this, except eligible or ineligible.
I heard Lee was taking a crash course or 2 to finish.
It's history anyway.

Lee didn't cost us Miller. Miller's EE spot was given to that QB who switched to ND which upset the kid and he went elsewhere.
