Obama has proven time and time again that he has no political courage. How ironic it is that he's less progressive than Dick Cheney on the issue of gay rights.
Isn't that the truth? Even village idiot Joe Biden, the Democrats answer to Dan Quayle, has publicly taken a pro-gay marriage stance, while all Obaoma can do is talk about how his position is "evolving." And he has never once explained that that "evolution" entails.

So gays wanted the government out of their bedrooms when it came to sodomy laws (actually saved them from diseases and health concerns), but now they want them back in to tell them that their abnormal sexual habits are normal and acceptable? Biggest group of attention whores on the planet.

Everyone should want the government out of the bedroom and everyone should want them out of regulating churches.

Gays want the same right to a civil marriage just like heterosexuals.
Gays have the same rights as heteros. Gay / straight men can marry women and gay / straight women can marry men. There is no difference in their rights. Choosing not to exercise a right does not mean that one doesn't have that right. No one, gay or hetero, has a right to marry who they 'love.'

The problem with that theory of "evolution" is we've seen its "missing link" . . . . .

Why should the majority vote rule over a small minority? Mind their own business. They are doing it because they can. No other reason. It's plain old schoolyard bullying.

HHMichigan, the fact that two people of the same sex want to get married is ridiculous is it not? Keep it honest

Homosexuality and the spread of HIV/AIDS go hand in hand. They represent maybe 5% of the population but have 50% or more of the AIDS. That doesn't cover the higher rates of alcoholism and domestic violence in the gay community, but those are separate issues.

I think it's ridiculous that the distribution of marriage contracts is limited to the state.

It used to be crazy if a white woman wanted to marry a black man. People that bitch about government intrusion and growth, yet support shite like this, annoy the hell out of me.

By that token, Obama's beliefs and laws shouldn't apply to me. I don't care what they do in their bedrooms, just don't try to change laws that don't need changing. The gays are the schoolyard bullies. Anyone who opposes their cause, they harass, trespass on their property, try to get them fired, try to get their business closed, spew hateful messages towards them, and even try to physically harm them. But yeah it's all about love for these heathens.

Congratulations for voting to enshrine bigotry in your state constitution. You really really disgust me.
You're welcome. BTW, I'm no bigot. I've plainly stated my reasons for supporting the Amendment. I live here. You do not (as far as I know). I know for a fact what the gay lobby in this area is after, and it's exactly what I stated. Tolerance is a 2-way street. Like I've stated previously, I don't care what you do nor who does it with you. Keep it to yourself. Why do I need to know who's gay and who's not? Leave me and my church out of it. You know as well as I do that if the Amendment had failed, then the next step would have been to repeal the old law. Once that law is repealed, then the gay lobby can start screaming 'discrimination' from the rooftops every time a church decides against performing a marriage ceremony for a gay couple. Once that starts, the lawsuits follow, and churches who don't conform to the will of the few will find it difficult to retain their status as charitable organizations, regardless of how much they might otherwise do for their communities.
