No, effecting the flow of something and being in full control of it are two different things.

Let me present you with this little gem:

Let's ask the Better Business Bureau:

quote:

“Consider this: If you had purchased a game for $59.99... and were told that you had complete control over the game's outcome by the choices your character made and then actually had no control over the game's outcome, wouldn't you be disappointed?” — Marjorie Stephens, Director of Communications, Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana

quote:

“The issue at stake here is, did BioWare falsely advertise? Technically, yes, they did. In the first bullet point, where it states 'the decisions you make completely shape your experience, there is no indecision in that statement. It is an absolute.” — Marjorie Stephens

Affecting the story was a major factor in what drew most of the fanbase to the series in the first place. The reason people of varying opinions enjoyed the game together was because on every minute detail of this story was a personal touch, A PERSONAL CHOICE. That is stone cold, irrefutable fact. Bioware championed the intimacy of personal choice and then ripped it away when they should've been putting the polish on their crown jewel.

And as you play through the saga you did get to do this.

What is your problem? The ending to Mass Effect 3 or the entire trilogy now?

And if that were the only quote that was made, you would have the upper hand in this argument.

Even the Better Business Bureau is on the side of the consumers.

I guess it depends who you ask. I for one have a problem with the entire game of ME3. Some people just thought the last 15 mins was terrible.

Unfortunately, the hollow resolution makes a lot of those earlier decisions feel pointless in repeat playthroughs.

I don't care what happens to Shepard and crew since I know that I've got some dipshit holographic 8 year old boy waiting around the corner to crush my dreams.

I don't think that the ending ruins the entire series, but it comes perilously close.

I actually have a problem with the whole game as well, for several reasons. But the ending is what I actually feel compelled to complain about.

because the decisions and story that we helped craft get shoehorned into some shitty ending where Joker's a huge pussy who bails on you and all the relays go kaboom.

I tried to avoid it as to not ruin the ending before I played it.

I hoped I could gather people's thoughts without the back and forth. Everyone has their own take on the game.

We're grown adults (that's debatable), we don't need people to tell us if something is good or not.

Either you enjoyed it or you didn't. If you didn't, move on. If you did, move on. No need to convince others that your view is the right view.

Although I do understand the customers who are angry over the BBB angle. You feel betrayed by BioWare. We understand. Don't need to tell everyone that they should feel the same as well.

I agree with some(some) of Tact's points. As well as Tom's and others. I choose to view the game as I did. I don't feel betrayed or upset by the ending, really I am apathetic. It is over.
