ozzy whitesnake are two that first come to mind for me.
both had tommy aldridge(drums) and rudy sarzo(bass).
ozzy also had the late randy castillo on drums and whitesnake the late cozy powell.
but ozzy's & david coverdale's ability to lure megatalented guitarists is most impressive.
most would admit that randy rhoads played a tremendous part in ozzy's early success as a solo artist.
brad gillis, jake e. lee, & zack wylde all served as guitarist in ozzy's band.
coverdale has had bernie marsden, micky moody, john sykes, vivian campbell, adrian vandenberg, steve vai, warren demartini, reb beach, & doug aldrich as guitarist in whitesnake.
he's also had jon lord play keyboards.

He's nowhere near the guitarist that John is, but not many people are. As for being shite, you really should educate yourself. The guy has put out some fantastic music with John and many other bands. Check out Wikipedia and you'll probably even find some new bands to listen to. For the record, I'm not even a RHCP fan. I just can't stand Anthony Kiedis. Such an arrogant shite.
