Is there a beef between "Alien" and "Aliens" fans?

Its basically the Ridley Scott version vs. the Cameron sequel. Some people hate the action that Cameron implemented in the sequel. I've seen some discussion where people hate the idea..
*spoiler*
of a an alien Queen. There has been debate on just cause the first Alien looked like it did, doesnt mean that the Alien's to follow were supposed to look that way. Cameron's Alien were more brutal and sadistic killing machine. However...with Ridley there was always this uneasy feeling of the Alien being intelligent.
Sorry for rambling. But I was on IMDB and I didnt know of the beef between fans of both movies. And there is so much discussion on how Cameron changed things....that I didnt quite notice or pay attention to I guess......Are there any people here who HIGHLY favor one over the other? (Even if you like both films)

Exclusive Sci-fi genre (supposedly) vs. 80's Vietnam War movie.
Like the Vietcong...they will never ever quit. Newt? Cinderella story.

I'm sure there are people who favor one over the other, but if there are people that can't see they're two completely different types of movies then they're just stupid. It's kind of unfair to compare the two because they're different genres and different directors. Alien is a horror/suspense movie and Aliens is pure action, both films are among the best ever in those categories.
That said, Alien is the better one. Wish I had it so I could watch it now.

Alien is generally the cinephile's choice, but Aliens is my all time favorite.

Both are kick arse movies, there a just different things that grab you about each of them.
The first one is more creepy. They're in this ship and around any turn that Alien could be waiting, and they slowly get picked off.
The second one is more action packed. Machine guns and blowing shite up.
Both are great flicks.

Alien - a science fiction thriller. The arrival and discovery of the wrecked spaceship and the alien "eggs" was truly "other worldly" and creepy. The events that followed on their ship were truly scary with a sense of helpless dread.
Aliens - essentially an action movie. I knew I wasn't going to like it as much as Alien as soon as the marines started slapping high fives and making wisecracks. And I was right. I enjoyed it enough, but it was no where near the first one as far as my tastes are concerned (and, as I've pointed out before, those tastes are impeccable).
Alien 3 - an underrated and under-appreciated film in my opinion. I can understand why a lot of people didn't like it, but it was pretty interesting in a very dark sort of way.
And, of course, the fourth one just didn't work at all.

Can't wait for Promethius to come out... Prequel to alien, will have no xenomorphs, perhaps sets up for the alien ship where the first face eater was.
