Looks like Bruce is significantly older in the first shot they show of him. Looks like he may have some gray in his hair.

If you are talking about @ 0:12... He's in a wheelchair... hmmmmm maybe Bane might have put him there...

*Edit: Wheelchair or office chair, can't tell if he's backing up or simply turning like in a office chair. Though the absence of the back of the chair would suggest it's a wheelchair and not a regular office chair.

So why are they ending it with just three movies?

Because that's where you should end most great epics. First one is set up. Second is the fall. Third is the rise. Maybe a better way of putting it (as Nolan would likely say), its the Pledge, the Turn, and the Prestige. That's how all great trilogies and most franchises operate.

Can The Dark Knight Rises do what X-Men 3 couldn't and successfully end the story arc of a superhero franchise?

I think yes. Just looking at everything we have seen so far, I'm pretty confident that TDKR will be just as good, if not better, than Batman Begins. And that's at the very least. At the very most...it could surpass The Dark Knight in quality but we won't be able to pass that final verdict until we actually see the movie.

One thing I'd like to mention is the lack of Marion Collitard in the trailer. Yeah she's making out with Bruce once, but Nolan seems to want to keep her involvement secret. She's definitely got to be Talia, even if Marion denies it.

I'm trying to keep my expectations as low as possible. I'm still not sure if it was a bad decision not to recast The Joker. I will hopefully gladly eat crow for the past few years of comments. However if Nolan had to go with an alternate villain, Bane was clearly a really good choice. Still not sure how I feel about Catwoman though.

And no sightings of Ra's in any of the trailers

I doubt Nolan will fully revive Ra's. I think we're merely getting flashbacks. I'm guessing Talia is the leader now with Bane being the muscle and tactician behind The League of Shadows.

Has this been 100% confirmed?

I only saw it on a blog.

My theory is that Bane is dispatched Le Chiffre style. If you have seen Casino Royale you know what I mean. I personally believe that Bane will be defeated sometime in the middle of the third act, just before Marion reveals herself to be Talia. I think the final showdown will be between Batman and Talia Al Ghul.

I'm pretty sure Bane and Talia are working together. I doubt it will end that way.

Early leaked screen shots were of Lazareth pits. He'll be back but younger. We get Neeson in flashbacks.

It looks good, but it's a trailer. The plot kinda looks to be a variation on a theme. The scene with the bridges collapsing would pack more of a punch if there weren't similar scenes in BB and TDK. Nolan elaborates on it and makes it into a successful, arcing theme then fine, but it's really nothing we haven't seen.

I still think it's kinda weird that Bruce, through the span of the movies, has only been Batman for maybe 2 or 3 years, and we get an EPIC CONCLUSION to Batman's story.

Not sure what JGL's role is, but I hope the movie doesn't suffer from too many characters.
