A friend in Port Allen recently recommended Orleans On The Avenue to me and I was thinking of heading there tonight.
I was wondering if anyone has been and if so, what are some good recommendations? The menu looks very ambitious and I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Hoping it's worth the drive.

It's good, but not special or great.
The Naw'lins Pasta is terrible, though. The shrimp was mushy, the sauce was bland, and the andouille was a lie when I had it. They definitely don't hit on all of their items.

I went for the brunch buffet the other day and it was pretty good. I ate crawfish enchiladas, grits and grillades, some fried seafood, and some kind of spinach and artichoke dip. They had an omelet station too. Good service, even with a 50 top that was being very needy.
I've heard their smoked meats are pretty good.

Thanks for the recs. I think I'll end up sticking to a burger or trying the BBQ plate if we go. Something told me it was too good to be true to find a great casual upscale restaurant not named Ramsey's in Plaquemine.

Yep. My review from brunch was honest but I think I should disclose that one of my good friends is the head chef there. He's from Lafayette, came from Cafe Roma, and is a pretty badass chef.
